Bloody Typical

So that's me about to go on holiday for a week to sunny Spain and I woke up this morning absolutely loaded with the cold. Well I say I woke up this morning, I actually woke up several times during the night with drips falling out my wet nose.

I can just tell it's one of those colds that ends up with a really annoying tickly cough that is very annoying to the person with the cough and anyone near them. I should get that just in time for boarding the flight. Yippee.

This is England

Am I the only person in the country who wasn't very impressed with this film? I thought it was all a bit 'I've just graduated with a degree in film-making and here's my first film, it's really gritty'.

I thought 'Dead Man's Shoes' - http://www.godwillforgivethem.com/ was superb and 'A Room for Romeo Brass' - http://www.britfilms.tv/index.php?id=3244 was quite good too but 'This is England' was cliched and obvious and the bit where the wee guy snogs that older girl was just downright wrong.

Just Another Day at the Office

Thank F*** it's Friday!

Amen to that.

Limmy's Show!

Brian performed his Fringe show in Blackfriars lastnight and it was a great night, brilliant atmosphere and lots of laughs. I've seen the show about 8 times now and I hear Brian rehearsing it all the time so I know it like the back of my hand, but it still makes me laugh. My favourite bits are Jacqueline MaCafferty's Big Brother Audition Tape and Xanders sketch. If you can get to the Fringe show on Tuesday in the Edinburgh Stand then go, it's your last chance to see it, probably. http://www.thestand.co.uk/listings/listings_edin.htm

My Winnings

I went to a race night on Saturday in the Kingfisher in Cumbernauld. If you don't know how this works, you pay a fiver for a horse, which you name (my horse was called 'Wee Boomer') and your horse races in one race, but you can bet on all of the races - there were eight races in total. If your horse wins you get a prize. So, I bet on all of the races and won in four of them and my horse won it's race also, I would say that's quite lucky. Brian won in the last race (my race) when he bet on 'Wee Boomer'. He got £15 back which covered his losses so he was happy. I was delighted as I got a bottle of whisky for my Dad when Wee Boomer won and I also got to show off at how great I was a picking winners (horses, not bogies).

PS this is also my first post as you can probably tell but I thought it was worth mentioning that.
